Self-Guided Tour Exceed! in Action Tour

Telosa's Support Team has compiled a few of the most common issues and their resolutions for Exceed! Basic. If you have any problems installing or using the program, please refer the to the frequently asked questions below. If you still cannot resolve your issue, please email us at support@telosa.com.

1) After installing Exceed! Basic, I double click on the shortcut to the program and nothing happens. What should I do?

Open the ExBasic program folder on your hard drive and locate the VFP9SP1RT application file. Double click on this file to run it, select a Language Preference (U.S. English), click OK, then click on the Install button. This process adds the necessary system files to run Exceed! Basic.

2) After starting Exceed! Basic, I get a window asking for my login and password. What is my login information?

The default login and password for Exceed! Basic is blank. Just hit the Enter key twice to get past the login screen. If you prefer, you can define a login/password for each user in the Security Setup screen under the Application Setup menu.

3) I still cannot open Exceed! Basic after following the steps above.

Running the installer described in resolution #1 will not install all the files properly unless you have appropriate rights to the computer you are using. You will need at least Power User or Administrative rights on your Windows machine to install Exceed! Basic. Some anti-virus software may also employ something called "script blocking" (particularly Symantec/Norton AV) which may interfere with the installation. Disable your anti-virus software temporarily and rerun the installation if all other steps do not resolve your issue.

4) Can I have other people use Exceed! Basic on another computer?

You can have several people use Exceed! Basic in a networked environment. The first step is to share out the Entire Exceed Basic program folder giving all users "Full Control" rights to the ExBasic folder and all of it's subfolders/files. You then need to go to each computer that will run the program and locate the ExBasic program folder. Find the Workstat application file, and double click on it to run it. This will launch the Workstation Install. Once this install is complete, locate the VFP9SP1RT application file, and double click on it to run it. Select a Language Preference (U.S. English) click OK, then click on the Install button.

If you would like to have more than one person using Exceed! Basic at the same time, please contact us about purchasing additional user licenses at 800-676-5831 x103 to speak to Deborah O'Sullivan.

5) I installed Exceed! Basic, but when I start the program I get the error "Cannot Update Cursor".

This error occurs when the user does not have sufficient rights to the Exceed! Basic program folder. Make sure the user has "Full Control" rights to the entire ExBasic program folder and all of it's subfolders/files.

6) When I start Exceed! Basic, I get a login prompt asking for my initials and password but it rejects my login information. How do I log into the program?

Just leave the initials and password fields blank and hit the Enter key twice to get into the program. You can define your own login and password under Security Setup, once you get into the program.

7) Why am I getting a message saying "Cannot Connect to Quickbooks" when trying to use the Quickbooks interface?

Find the folder labeled "QBFC" in your Exceed! Basic folder (folder is called ExBasic by default), and double click on the Setup application file inside the QBFC folder. This will open the QBFC 2.1 InstallShield Wizard, click Next to install the necessary files to use the interface.
